Shiv Sharma – A Life Well Spent!
On the twenty-third day of August in 1996, in the city of Fairfax, Virginia, Sapna and Sanjay Sharma were blessed with a son whom they named Shiv. In Sanskrit, Shiv means ‘the Auspicious One’.
In the year 2014, Shiv graduated from Lake Braddock Secondary School and began his ascent towards a college degree at Longwood University. Shiv enjoyed his school years a lot and made friends easily. He carried his charisma to Longwood. He had an immense passion for campus recreation and personal fitness. Shiv strived to be healthier every day and was passionate about bodybuilding and modeling. Shiv loved Longwood. His passions were ever so evident through his work at Longwood’s Campus Recreation, his involvement in activities such as the power-lifting competition, and his inspiring journey in which he used fitness to transform his body through dedication and hard work. #LiveLikeShiv! He worked hard and shed more than 100 pounds of his weight.
He passed NETA’s Personal Trainer Certification exam on November 05, 2015 as he wanted to educate others in achieving their fitness goals. He was in Dean’s List for his academic achievements at Longwood as well.
He dreamt of being a political leader someday, and achieving newer goals.
Shiv was very creative, hilarious in nature, a very great cook and the friendliest person. He earned a black belt in Tae-kwon-do. He was a gamer, an excellent chess player and much more…, who always brought smiles to others. He was one of the most uplifting and motivating people to be around. He always kept a positive attitude. Shiv was adored by his grandparents and was an ideal to his kid brother, Sidhant.
Shiv was one of the most down to earth, optimistic person who truly touched the lives of so many.
Shiv was always shining his bright light and encouragement, by words and example.
Shiv’s family and friends remember him as a driven and smart young man who constantly encouraged those around him to relentlessly pursue their goals, as he did. He sure worked very hard to make a life worth to live and be remembered.
On the fateful evening of April 12, 2016, in Chesterfield, Virginia, (not too far from Longwood), his life was taken away from us at the prime age of 19. It was the darkest of the nights for us and the morning-after never arrived. A grandson, son, brother, and blessing to all those who met him, Shiv-gone too soon but never to be forgotten.
